A small herd of Vicunas (vicugna vicugna) walk to graze in the high-altitude desert of southwestern Bolivia's Sud Lipez region. These animals have the highest quality of fur of any animal in the world. Their fine wool was prized by the Inca rulers that no one but they were allowed to wear it. Vicunas were a protected animal hundreds of years ago and are beginning to come back from the edge of extinction across the Andes.
