Adventure travelers that travel via 4x4 vehicles to the remote Sud Lipez region (a high-altitude desert in southwestern Bolivia) leave irreperable damage to the fragile desert landscape. This activity destroys the landscape since roads that are put in anywhere the vehicles can go are not maintained by local governments. In some parts there are hundreds of roads right next to each other, which has ultimately destroyed this once pristine desert environment.
