A large Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) stag stands proudly among some hind (female) on a tussock grass ridge in Deer Park Heights, near Queenstown, South Island of New Zealand. Red Deer were introduced from Scotland to New Zealand in 1851 and are now an important part of the agricultural product of venison for import to Europe and the US.
